UHB Corrosion-Resistant and Wear-Resistant Slurry Pump

Product Detail

UHB‑ZK series slurry pumps are cantilevered, single‑stage, single‑suction centrifugal pumps. Their wet‑end parts adopt steel‑lined ultra‑high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE), providing strong corrosion resistance and excellent wear resistance.
They can convey slurries containing acids, alkalis and salts, such as sulfuric acid with concentration below 80%, nitric acid and hydrochloric acid below 50%, various corrosive slurries in rare metal smelting, and various mixed media in the food and beverage industry.
UHB slurry pumps are also widely used in desulfurization systems with excellent performance.

UHB‑ZK series corrosion‑resistant and wear‑resistant slurry pumps are specially designed for conveying corrosive media containing fine particles or crystals. Manufactured with steel lining molded ultra‑high molecular weight polyethylene, the pumps feature outstanding corrosion resistance and excellent wear resistance. The pump adopts a cantilever front‑opening structure, and the impeller is semi‑open (without front cover), which improves passage performance in the flow passage, allowing particles and impurities in the medium to pass through the pump chamber quickly without clogging. The shaft seal adopts K‑type fluororubber sealing rings with an external cooling water jacket, satisfying both corrosion resistance and wear resistance requirements. This series is highly praised by users in metal smelting, titanium dioxide, fine chemical, chemical fertilizer and other industries. In addition, fluoroplastic lining can be adopted according to customers’ special corrosion or temperature resistance requirements, and non‑standard models with special flow rate and head can also be customized.

UHB-ZK series corrosion-resistant and wear-resistant slurry pumps are designed to adapt to a wide range of working conditions, such as conveying acidic or alkaline clear liquids or slurries, various corrosive ore slurries in the smelting industry, various dilute acids in the sulfuric acid industry, and various types of sewage in the environmental protection industry. The pump features both corrosion resistance and wear resistance, boasting an extremely wide range of applications.
It has the following characteristics:
  1. Excellent Wear Resistance: All wetted parts are made of steel-lined ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMW-PE). UHMW-PE has the highest wear resistance among plastics, being 4 times higher than Nylon 66 (PA66) and PTFE, and 7-10 times higher than carbon steel and stainless steel.
  2. Superior Impact Resistance: The impact strength of UHMW-PE ranks highest among general engineering plastics, being 5 times that of ABS. It remains stable even at -196℃, a property unmatched by any other plastic.
  3. Outstanding Corrosion Resistance: Within a certain range of temperature and concentration, the pump can resist various corrosive media (acids, alkalis, salts) and organic solvents. When immersed in 80 types of organic solvents at 20℃ and 90℃ for 30 days, it shows no abnormal surface conditions, and other physical properties remain almost unchanged.
  4. Low Noise: UHMW-PE has one of the highest impact energy absorption values among plastics, providing excellent sound deadening properties. This significantly reduces the noise generated by liquid flow during transportation.
  5. Safe and Reliable, No Toxin Decomposition: The UHMW-PE used in the pump has extremely stable chemical properties, making it suitable for use in the food industry.
  6. Low Friction Coefficient: The internal friction coefficient of the pump is only 0.07-0.11, giving it self-lubricating properties. Under water-lubricated conditions, its dynamic friction coefficient is half that of PA66 and POM. When operating in a sliding or rotating mode, its lubrication performance is even better than steel and brass with added lubricating oil.
  7. Excellent Anti-Adhesion Property: UHMW-PE has excellent anti-adhesion performance, comparable to PTFE. Therefore, it performs exceptionally well when conveying media with high viscosity.

Application Scope of UHB Slurry Pump

  1. Sulfuric Acid & Phosphate Fertilizer Industry: Conveying media such as dilute acid, mother liquor, sewage, seawater, fluosilicic acid containing silica gel, and phosphoric acid slurry.
  2.   Operating Principle of UHB Slurry Pump

The K-type dynamic seal mainly consists of an auxiliary impeller (or auxiliary vanes) and a shutdown seal (rubber oil seal).
During operation, the centrifugal force generated by the rotation of the auxiliary impeller (or auxiliary vanes) puts the seal chamber under negative pressure, thus preventing liquid leakage. At this stage, the shutdown seal does not function. The lip of the rubber oil seal opens under negative pressure, creating a certain clearance with the shaft sleeve to reduce wear and prolong service life.
When the pump stops, the auxiliary impeller (or auxiliary vanes) ceases rotating, and the pressure in the seal chamber changes from negative to positive. The shutdown seal then takes effect, and the lip of the rubber oil seal tightly wraps around the shaft sleeve under pressure to achieve sealing.
If cooling water is allowed to mix into the medium, a water-cooled K-type dynamic seal can be selected with an external cooling water device to further extend the service life of the oil seal. The oil seal of this type is made of fluororubber, and it is mainly suitable for conveying corrosive media such as slurries containing solid particles and wastewater with impurities.
(For water-cooled K-type dynamic seals, clean tap water shall be used as cooling water, with pressure preferably within 0.05 MPa.)
