UHB Corrosion-Resistant & Wear-Resistant Slurry Pump

Product Detail

The UHB‑ZK series corrosion‑resistant and wear‑resistant slurry pumps are specially designed for conveying corrosive media containing fine particles or crystals. Manufactured with steel‑lined ultra‑high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) by compression molding, the pumps feature excellent corrosion resistance and outstanding wear resistance.
The pump adopts a cantilever front‑opening structure, and the impeller is of semi‑open type (without front cover plate), which improves passage capacity in the flow channel. Particles and impurities in the medium can pass through the pump chamber quickly without clogging. The shaft seal is a K‑type fluororubber sealing ring with an external cooling water jacket, satisfying both corrosion resistance and wear resistance requirements.
This series has been well received by users in metal smelting, titanium dioxide, fine chemical, fertilizer and other industries. In addition, fluoroplastic lining can be adopted according to customers’ special corrosion or temperature resistance requirements. Non‑standard models with special flow rate and head can also be customized.

Features of UHB Slurry Pump

The UHB‑ZK corrosion‑resistant and wear‑resistant slurry pump is designed to adapt to various working conditions, such as conveying acidic or alkaline clean liquids and slurries, various corrosive ore slurries in the metallurgical industry, dilute acids in the sulfuric acid industry, wastewater in environmental protection, and more. It offers both corrosion resistance and wear resistance, with a very wide range of applications.
Its main features are as follows:
  1. Excellent wear resistance

All wetted parts are made of steel-lined ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMW‑PE). UHMW‑PE has the highest wear resistance among plastics, four times higher than nylon 66 (PA66) and PTFE, and 7–10 times that of carbon steel and stainless steel.

  2. High impact resistance

UHMW‑PE has the highest impact strength among general engineering plastics, five times that of ABS. It remains stable at temperatures as low as −196 °C, a property unmatched by other plastics.

  3. Outstanding corrosion resistance

Within certain temperature and concentration ranges, the pump resists various corrosive media (acids, alkalis, salts) and organic solvents. After immersion in 80 organic solvents at 20 °C and 90 °C for 30 days, no abnormal appearance or significant change in physical properties was observed.

  4. Low noise operation

UHMW‑PE has high impact energy absorption and good sound-damping properties, greatly reducing noise generated by fluid flow during operation.

  5. Safe, non-toxic and stable

UHMW‑PE has extremely stable chemical properties with no toxic decomposition, making the pump suitable for food industry applications.

  6. Low friction coefficient

The internal friction coefficient is only 0.07–0.11, providing excellent self-lubrication. Under water lubrication, its dynamic friction coefficient is half that of PA66 and POM. In sliding or rotating service, its lubricity exceeds that of lubricated steel and brass.

  7. Application Scope of UHB Slurry Pump

    • Sulfuric Acid & Phosphate Fertilizer Industry

Conveying dilute acid, mother liquor, wastewater, seawater, fluorosilicic acid containing silica gel, phosphate slurry, etc.

    • Non-ferrous Metal Smelting Industry

      Excellent non-stick performance

UHMW‑PE has outstanding anti-adhesion properties comparable to PTFE, performing well when conveying high-viscosity media.

Working Principle of UHB Slurry Pump

The Type K dynamic seal mainly consists of a back impeller (or auxiliary vanes) and a stationary seal (rubber oil seal).
During operation, the centrifugal force generated by the rotating back impeller (or auxiliary vanes) creates a negative pressure in the seal chamber, preventing liquid from leaking out. At this time, the stationary seal is not in operation. The lip of the rubber oil seal opens slightly under negative pressure, forming a small gap with the shaft sleeve, which reduces wear and extends service life.
When the pump stops, the back impeller (or auxiliary vanes) stops rotating, and the pressure in the seal chamber changes from negative to positive. The stationary seal then engages: the lip of the rubber oil seal clamps tightly around the shaft sleeve under pressure, achieving a sealing effect.
If cooling water infiltration into the medium is permitted, the water-cooled Type K dynamic seal can be selected, which is equipped with an external cooling water system to further extend the oil seal’s service life. The oil seal of this type is made of fluororubber, primarily suitable for conveying corrosive media such as slurries containing solid particles and wastewater with impurities.(Note: The cooling water for the water-cooled Type K dynamic seal is clean tap water, with a recommended pressure of ≤ 0.05 MPa.)
