ZCQ Type Self-priming Magnetic Drive Pump (hereinafter referred to as the self-priming pump) adopts static seals instead of dynamic seals, keeping all wetted parts in a fully sealed state. It completely eliminates the common problems of leakage, overflow, dripping and seepage that are unavoidable for pumps with traditional mechanical seals.
The pump casing and wetted components are made of corrosion-resistant materials such as stainless steel, alumina ceramic and PTFE-impregnated graphite. It integrates the performance advantages of CQ magnetic drive pump with independent self-priming capability. No bottom valve or pre-priming water is required, and its maximum self-priming height reaches 4 meters.

The ZCQ self-priming magnetic pump adopts an external mixing axial backflow pump casing structure. The pump casing is composed of a liquid suction chamber, liquid storage chamber, volute, backflow holes, gas-liquid separation chamber and other components (see Figure 1 for the structure). After the pump is started, under the action of centrifugal force, the residual liquid in the suction chamber and the air in the inlet pipeline are stirred by the impeller to form a gas-water mixture. The mixture flows through the volute into the gas-liquid separation chamber. With the decrease of flow velocity, gas and water are separated. The air is discharged from the pump outlet, while the liquid returns to the pump interior through the backflow holes. After repeated circulation, the air in the liquid inlet pipeline is completely exhausted, forming a certain vacuum degree inside the pump and realizing the self-priming function.

Installation and Operation

  1. After unpacking, check the pump nameplate and verify that the main parameters of the self-priming pump meet the application requirements.
  2. The self-priming pump shall be installed horizontally; the pump casing shall not bear the weight of pipelines.
  3. Ensure tight sealing between the pump and connecting pipelines.
  4. Inspect the pump before use. The motor fan blade shall rotate flexibly without jamming or abnormal noise, and all fasteners shall be securely tightened.
  5. Loosen the water filling bolt on the top of the pump, inject liquid into the liquid storage chamber (no more than two-thirds of the pump volume), then tighten the bolt securely.
  6. Connect the power supply for trial rotation. Check from the motor end whether the rotating direction is consistent with the pump rotation marking.
  7. Before stopping the pump, close the discharge valve first, then cut off the power supply, and finally shut off the suction pipe valve.

Precautions
1.The bearings of the magnetic pump are cooled and lubricated by the conveyed medium. Dry running is strictly prohibited. Meanwhile, avoid no-load startup after unexpected power failure during operation.
2.If the conveyed medium contains solid particles, install a filter screen at the pump inlet; if ferromagnetic particles are contained, a magnetic filter shall be equipped.
3.During operation, the ambient temperature shall be lower than 40℃, and the motor temperature rise shall not exceed 75℃.
4.The conveyed medium and its temperature shall be within the allowable range of pump materials (see the attached table for details). The service temperature of metal pumps is less than 100℃, and the specific gravity of the conveyed medium shall not exceed 1.3. Excess medium specific gravity will affect technical performance.
5.For media prone to sedimentation and crystallization, clean the pump timely after use and drain all residual liquid inside the pump.
6.After the self-priming pump operates for 500 hours, disassemble and inspect the wear of bearings and end face rotating rings. If the clearance between bearings and shaft sleeves reaches 0.5~1 mm, and the axial play of the impeller is 0.5~2 mm, replace the bearings and axial rotating rings in a timely manner.
